What is the best way to help someone who has an eating disorder?

I think my BFF might have one........ mabye i do too

Please Help!

go get some treatment. There are several unique programs for eating disorder treatments.

u should be able to know if u have an eating disorder or not. but about ur friend, if u notice she/he doesn't eat a lot, or shes/hes goes to the bathroom after she/he eats a lot, she might have a problem. i would confront her/him and ask her if she/he has an eating disorder. say it like u care and try to get her/him to tell the truth. explain why it is bad and why they should not do this to themself. I would give her/him maybe a couple of days or a week to let her/him think about what you said. if they continue to look skinny and frail, i would notify their parents. eating disorders can be deathly or you can be hospitalized for quite some time. but remember to tell him/her calmly and give them time to decide. don't confront the parents right away. It could be stressful for him/her. I think you, being a friend have the best chance to get him/her to stop.

Yeah Vanessa, you're really being helpful. If VBC wanted to be insulted she would have asked. >:P

Well, the first thing to do honey is find out what you have. If you're bulimic then you need to stop throwing up. If you're anorexic we need to get some vitamins into you... could you suppy us with a few more details? What are the simptums? How long as this been going on? Is this a weight issue or are you taking out your feelings on food (that's what I did last spring)?
Email me if you want, we can talk about it.

if you think you have an eating disorder talk to your gp, and they well help write out a treatment plan that you'll have to work on to get yourself better.

Good luck email if you wanna talk!!

I suggest finding professional help.
It's probably the best thing.
