Would u say i have an eating disorder?


I wouldn't. In fact, I think what I'm doing is perfectly fine, however my older sister on the other hand, does not. Basically, I used to be pretty skinny and petite and then last winter due to some personal problems i gained a large amount of weight. I'm not fat, im just kinda heavy looking and I can't stand it. My thighs are pretty large and im pretty wide and my stomach goes out a little bit. I never used to be this way and i need to change back. I'm going to be starting 9th grade and i cant go in looking this way. SO im not eating much. Like, im not starving myself, because i do eat. Like i eat slim fast shake in the morning, then around lunch i have some fruit, and i eat dinner but a very minimal portion. i dont eat anything else and no snacks during the day and excersise tons. Do you think this is helpful to my body? Like is it okay? I think it is i just want opinions from impartial people. My sister says she thinksa this is bad, and an "eating disorder" but it's not. how much excercise?

do you want one? if not than eat a little more, like someone said, add a slimfast bar, that's all your choice really.
and it would really help us answerers if you'd mention how much you excercise each day. if you're getting very tired and sore, do a little less for a while and then your body will be able to do more.

if you're a teenager, you're just going through a phase.

1. you're not starving yourself. you clearly don't have an eating disorder
2. slim fast shake? that's a diet supplement.

if you have an eating disorder, you'll just cut down your appetite by 70 % (according to DSM-IV). you DO eat and you exercise. that's called "healthy lifestyle" not an "eating disorder".

You're supposed to eat a balance breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then exercise. By not eating your not doing your body any good the less you eat.. the lower your metabolism is! You really don't want that! Girl!! Eat and exercise... walk...try a sport like basketball or something just to have fun and watch the weight go right off!!!

I don't think this is an eating disorder, but it definitely isn't healthy for your body. A little bit of pudge won't kill you, and I'm sure your family and friends love you just the way you are! :^)

The slim fast doesnt work
you should just exercise
& eat veggies & fruit & no snacks
is okay
but sometimes you might need
it when your exercising
maybe some nuts
don't limit yourself to a little food
just eat the right portion then work it off

If you're having a shake for breakfast and only fruit for lunch, yeah. You need to at least eat a salad for lunch.

Do you feel hungry?

I think that if you continue doing this, it can develop into an eating disorder. What you are eating at the moment is not enough for a teenaged girl. I think that you have the right idea for breakfast, but you need to either add-on to your lunch and dinner or add snacks. For your lunch, you should add some sort of starch/protein (maybe a slim-fast bar). You should add on some healthy snacks such as peanuts, gronola bars ect. If you are hungry, i suggest eating more and exercising more.

You have a great sister for being concerned. I wish I had someone whatched out for me like that.

I don't think you have an eating disorder... yet. Here's what I think. The shake you're having for breakfast is full of sugar. Not good. All of those breakfast drinks are mostly sugar. So are most cereals mostly sugar. Look on the label. Unless sugar is at least the fifth ingredient listed it has a very high level of sugar. Sugar acts as a poisen to your body. It tastes good, but it's so deadly.

For breakfast you should be having SOME protein. Your breakfast should look something like this: toast with a smear of peanut butter, or some cheese, fruit, fat-free milk. Lunch should be: protein (meat, eggs, fish or cheese) one portion of whole grain bread, a salad, fruit, and a serving of fat-free milk. Dinner should be: protein (meat, eggs, fish, cheese) small potatoe or serving of brown rice, vegetables (such as broccoli, carrotts, etc.) You would maintain your blood sugar level better if you saved the fruit and milk for between mean snacks. Maintaining blood sugar levels is important because it helps your body to function at optimum level.

Do NOT continue to starve yourself, and fill up on sugar. If you do you will regret it later in life. You're still a growing girl. You're not even giving your body the basic ingredients it needs to grow. I hope you will take this advice, because I'd like you to be of normal weight AND healthy. It is possible, but you have to be aware of what you put into your mouth. No more sugar for breakfast! :-)

Its close to one. The protein shake is like your eating like 800 calories a day according to that. If excercise as much as you say you do your burning over 1500 calories a day. Over 3 pounds a week. So let me tell you whats gunna happen buddy. Your gunna lose alot of weight youll be down to around 135 by summer's end. But youll of had such a crappy diet that youll emerge still looking fat and doughy because you lacked the proper nutrients to gain any muscle. Your hurting yourself. Eat at least 1300 calories a day mostly protein and then excercise alot and THEN your good. Your sister's sorta right.

You don't have an eating disorder, but you could certainly develop one from the way it sounds.

You need to eat more in your diet. I'd suggest adding some fruit to your breakfast. Maybe the protein shake, and some grapes, or apples. Then for lunch you can stick with fruit, but because your eat fruit for breakfast you might get tired of it. I'd suggest a salad, and YES you can have croutons. And then I'd continue eating your small portion dinners.

Although the scale says you might have lost weight, you still need a proper amount of nutrients and protein to SEE the results.
