Eating disorder? Help.?

Ok, basically. I used to be a healthy 8 stone (50kgs/112lbs). Since being stressed and feeling useless, I have now dropped to 7.4 stone, and I'm still going. When Family ask if I've eaten I lie and say I have, when I haven't. When I eat I throw up, and just can't bare the thought of eating.

Can anyone please tell me what's going on?

I actually want to lose more weight as I'm not happy in my body.

I would just like to add, I'm suffering majorly - depression.
When I went to the Doctor, he referred me to a Councillor - which made me feel worse.

As you are aware, it does seem like you are developing an eating disorder.

Firstly try to identify why you want to lose weight. You say you are not happy 'in' your body... however you will not escape from your body by becoming thinner and sadly anorexia will never be satisfied with any amount of weight lost. You need to seek help now, before it gets even further out of hand.

It seems your depression could be linked to your eating problems, why not try to talk to the doctor about again. It may be worth asking about seeing a dietician or trying anti-depressant medication.

Although counselling may not have helped the first time - you always give it another go. You need to find someone who you can trust, and sometimes that means changing counsellors a few times.

I wish you all the best.
Try to take care.

You know you have a problem - sweetheart go to your docs asap.

What's happening is the stress, feelings of uselessness, and low self esteem is manifesting itself in an unhealthy relationship with food.

I bet your family are really worried about you, but it's likely they just don't know how to help you for the best.

Good luck - and go to the docs soon. The longer you leave this, the more difficult it will become to gain control. x

yes honey i think you are,one of the most terrible things in life that we dont know we suffer from a disease ,speically mentally
you may not suffer from an eating disorder ,its depression that makes you think about not eating or throwing up
ask help
you need it

i think you need to see a gp. my advice would be to try and make time to eat...
make sure you eat breakfast...ut dont eat any fibre or anything...that could trigger the feeling of being full and spark you purging...maybe a mall glass of milk or a piece of white toast? maybe an egg? having something in your somach is not only nutritious, but it could stop you binge/purging

i know its hard..but i think you should talk to your family. tell them all that youve listed here. they can help you, or even get you some help

good luck

you are belimic and that is very unhealthy because your teeth will turn ne=asty from the acid in your stomach and you will be so underweight you ould collapse unexcpectedly. just eat carbs, like pasta and breads to gain weight. food is your friend, eat it and be happy

sounds like you need to go speak with your doctor hun and get this sorted otherwise you are going to end up seriously underweight and really ill.

You need to go and see your Doctor. This does sound serious. You need to be honest with your family. Good luck.
