Help! Anorexic?? Eating Disorder? |
Okay, my little sister is 17, 100 lbs and 5'6. Go here for information on treatment: http://www.remudaranch.com/adwords/anore... If she is purging the food on her own - then yes, she may have bulimia. That means she needs to see a specialist on eating disorders. The doctor may not have the full story -which is why he/she gave the easiest explanation. If your sister is truly trying to be healthy and gain weight - and food is not staying down - she may have some other stomach issues. If the problem persists - I would make her primary care doctor aware - and have your parents keep tabs on her progress. If your sister eats - and says she's nausiated - it's possible that's an excuse to go throw up. Girls are under so much pressure to stay thin - and can be very clever about hiding the real problem. If she truly has a physical reason why she can't keep food down - then her doctor should be able to diagnose something. Otherwise, it's an eating disorder - a psychological problem. Are you sure she isn't bulimic? becuase some bulimcs have become so good at forcing themselves to vomit that their body just does it now naturally after they eat without making it. She may have some kind of medical problem that prevents food from staying down, e.g. an allergy to something she is consuming. Or, she is truly anorexic, even if she says she wants to eat. Either way, she needs serious help, before her organs begin to shut down. Here's a really good site that might help you with your question: http://www.healthlessonsonline.com/ Try giving her different varieties of foods to see which kind's upset her stomach and witch stay down. Maybe have her drink shakes mixed with protein and necessity's she will need to grow maybe she's eating too much or she has to change her diets. She might be allergic to some types of food or maybe is eating too unhealthy foods. You should consult a nutritionist for help with this matter keep feeding her a lot, try to help her keep it down, and let the doctor know about your suspicions!!! keep giving her fattening foods. i would ring a helpline, she could be bulimic turn her upsdie down |
