How to tell friends that im going to be in the hospital for my eating disorder?

i have an eating disorder, and im going to be hospitalized and i don't have any idea how to tell my friends..two already know i have problems..but my best friend lives away from me so how can i tell her when she doesn't even know that my anxiety disorder develop into a eating disorder any help would be greatly aprective..are people gonna think im messed up for going??

You poor thing, you must be going through a really tough time. But you're not alone, a lot more people than you would think go through really similar times in their life.

My advice is to phone your friend, and tell her really simply and honestly that you've had some problems with anxiety, and that until now you haven't been ready to talk about it. Then say that its taken the form of an eating disorder, but that she shouldn't worry because you are going to get treatment.

Maybe have a look on the net for a good website that explains exactly what kind of condition you have, in a way that you think expresses what you're going through, and refer her to the website, so she can better understand.

If you were my friend, i might initally feel a little hurt and confused as to why you didnt tell me earlier what you were going though, so maybe anticipate her feelings, and explain why you kept it to yourself.

It's really great that you are taking steps to get better. I'm sure your friends will understand. No one will think you are messed up. Everyone has difficult periods in their lives, this is yours! I'm sure you'll come through it. Good luck!

Sweetie, it is as simple as it sounds. Call her up or write her, and you tell her straight up. Hi Girl, I'm calling you to tell you I'm going into the hospital for an eating disorder. Yes, you are messed up in one part of your life. It doesn't mean you are a bad person or some lunatic. You are a person with a problem that is going to get some help deal with this problem. Don't be so judgmental on yourself. How many recovering alcoholics and narcotic addicts have you met that you looked down on? My guess is none, you just filed that tidbit information away about them. Be glad you are getting some help with a serious problem. God bless.

Help for Eating Disorders

are they close to you,no one will think your weird.if they are close to you slip it in well your with them dont sayit at the beging of a conversation say it at the end like so you can tell them then they say ok hope your better soon and bye so its not as awkward they will understand

well just come out and tell her. u have no control over how pple view u or accept u. if ur just straightforward with her maybe she'll understand. just dont wait till the last minute where she mite hear it from someone else bc then she will feel u didnt like confine that with her

No shame in illness whatever it is and the only feeling you should get from real friends is the honest sorrow and support. Be realistic. We are not assumed to be flawless on the earth.

You dont have to go around telling everyone. Just tell those that you care for, like your best friend.. just tell her the truth and im sure she will be very support艧ve and will do anything she can to help you..
Best of luck ..

simply tell them the real issue. hey, everyone has some kind of disorder one way or another. and getting medical help is the right decision you have made.

if their really ur friends they will understand and try to help the situation, if they think ur messed up or wtv than forget about them......
