Does anyone have any knowledge or experiences with Binge Eating Disorder? I am interested in self-treatment.?

I have BED, and am scared it is developing into bulimia. I can't afford formal therapy, nor do i really have time for it. Health is important to me, and i don't want this disorder to ruin my life, or affect my social life, work life, or school. Can anyone offer help or advice? Self-help hotlines, references, or anything cheap/free would be especially helpful.

look in your newspaper or online. you might find free support groups. i admire you for stopping before it gets really bad. i have been battling bulimia for ten years.

Sorry I really don't have any advice, but I can relate, I used to have bulimia..now I binge and don't purge it. I went to counseling for it, which really helped, but I had to stop due to financial reasons. I don't know of any resources besides OA (Overeaters Anonymous), I have not participated in it but I hear good things about it. Good question, star for you.
