Why are eating disorders an issue for youths (in australia) <<<<but don't worry to much about that? |
(in australia) <<<<but dont worry to much about that it can lead to diseases and problems in the future like anorexia, or obesity(depending on the problem) cool, maybe i'll visit Australia someday :D Report Abuse Eating disorders target teenagers because they are self aware about their own bodies, and tend to focus their minds on the "perfect" bodies around them. They always think they look bad, so they focus and try to lose weight so they can look "perfect", but when they don't see their results, they start either not eating, or puking up what they ate before. Teens just are going through a rough emotional patch all together. The issue isn't as big in Australia I don't think... |

I understand how they feel(well kind of...hahaha ok no ... health implications: -heart problems (when the body has used up fat supplies, it uses muscle, including heart muscle, for energy, resulting in an increased risk of heart failure and heart arrhythm... I think some of it is because women are more emotional, they may be more prone to depression and anxiety than men, there may be more cases of abuse towards females than males and that can be link... not like they do for alcoholism, use of narcotics,etc.... most eating disorders are treated with therapy.. ...ok these are the ones i can think of that i've read: Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kayson (about just general psychiatric problems, depression and anxiety) Skin Game by Caroline Kettlewell ... They're really, really hard on them. Very few things are worse than seeing someone you love and care for hurting themselves. Why don't they want to eat?
