Do you believe that the media causes eating disorders, or do people bring them upon themselves?

Do you believe that the media causes eating disorders, or do people bring them upon themselves?

I think we bring it on ourselves, because if we were truly happy with ourselves we would not give a flying hoot what the media says is appropriate for our self image. Our size, hairstyle, wardrobe etc. We forget the hollywood stars are stars for a reason, they seem to be perfect, but are they HAPPY? Working so hard to keep a perfect body, looking good all the time, having the media follow your every move? Of course it's in the genes to, some people are small, pretty, have great hair cause it's just the way their body is made. Some of us have to starve ourselves, work out many hours just to be somewhat happy with ourselves, but happiness should really come from the inside out, not outside in. Oh well I have made a mockery of this question, guess I don't really know, I just babble on....
it is posssible since whenever someone sits by a TV, he or she will tend to keep on watching the TV and ignoring their surroundings. like they ignore to eat in time...
I believe the media is a very poor example. The constant pounding of be thin, don't wrinkle, have a tan---etc. It will get to one's self image eventually
Neither
It is the Media.
Look at Lindsey Lohan.
Barbie is another one.
I believe the media has a lot to do with it.
