What causes anemia...Is it all dietary...do eating disorders generally cause it?

what are the physical symptoms?

eating disorders can cause anemia, there are plenty other causes too. In women the commonest cause is periods. fatigue, dyspnea on exertion can be some of the symptoms. You would need to be evaluated if you ahve persistant or progressive anemia, good luck
Read chapter 23 (Anemia Has Many Causes) in Let's Get Well by Adelle Davis for an expert discussion of the many kinds of anemia and how to deal with them. See also the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine (Murray & Pizzorno) for another pair of expert's opinions on how to prevent and treat this problem.
Good luck!
Symptoms of anemia are: being tired all the time, weakness, bruising easily, lack of energy, leg cramps, pale skin, dizziness ect.... Yes, an eating disorder can cause anemia. If it's bulemia, your vomiting is not allowing you stomach to absorb the iron in the foods you consume. If it's anorexia you are not eating enough to get the proper amount of ironfrom your food. I hope this helps.
