Have you ever known of any African Americans with eating disorders, like anorexia and bulimia? I think you will find this link very helpful. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/thin/minori... eating disorders do not have a genetic link. anyone can have the problem. i have never known any one to have an eating disorder but I am sure they do no not anyone i know but who would know. they probably would hide it anyway Yes, it happens. My doc just told me I may suffer from EDNOS, eating disorder not otherwise specified (I think that was the term) check it out online, it's a trip. My metabolism is naturally high; but I've always worried about gaining a bunch of weight fast. I'm half Nigerian (big women) and half Spanish West Indian. I've been blessed with the good genes from both sides; but I'm terrified of gettin' pregnant and not bein ' able to lose the weight. Besides, sicknesses like those know no color. It's like a drug problem...white and black folks both smoke crack. I actually just saw a news special that said that more African American women are developing eating disorders. no i haven't but, eating disorder is down to the mind and psychological problems, not color of skin |
