Do you think lap band surgery can help with eating disorders?

My friend and my daughters step mother of 17 yrs had a lap band procedure on Oct12th 2006. On Oct 16th 2006 she died of compliacations.So yeah I guess It did help with her eating disorder as she no longer is required to eat. But I bet her 7 yr old son will have all kinds of disorders now. Don't do it.Please!!

the band might make you eat less,, but does nothing for the mental problem
Yes it does, but as in any surgery, risks are involved.You will have to eat less.
