How could you include participant activity when giving a teaching session on eating disorders?

How could you include participant activity when giving a teaching session on eating disorders?

Really think this depends on your group and how well they know each other and how confident they are in the security of information within the group.

For an adult group with good confidence in security, an activity where they disclose one thing that they would like to change about themselves and then lead into discussion on how everyone is disatisfied about something and extreme reactions such as surgery, eating disorders etc.

For a younger or less confident group, an activity on guessing the mass of various people from pictures may be good as it would highlight that we are often widely inaccurate and people with eating disorders often see their body as a distorted image.

Hope this helps
Classic activity done in all rehab clinics:

Ask them to draw a life size depiction of their body shape, then have them stand against it as it's taped to a door and trace their actual body. Theory is we typically see ourselves as much larger than we actually are.

If you are a male, have female students work with female students.
