Eating disorder in adolescence?

ANyone out there have a personal experience with an eating disorder before the completion of puberty? how much did it stunt your growth(what you are compared to family etc)? did you gain any height upon recovery?
I had bulimia for two years starting when i was 13, it slowed my growth to an inch per year (everyone in my family is soo tall) and i never got my period, even now, at 15

Cant say im an expert but you probly will never be as tall as your family is. AS for not getting your period. i think you should go talk to your docter and find out if this is a normal thing to happen to someone. You may have to have hormone treatment.

No experience here honey. I know that your body will heal, and grow. I know it will be delayed. You might end up a little smaller than some of your family, but maybe not. It is my educated opinion that I think you will catch up. My husband did from his stunted growth on youth, but it wasn't from an eating disorder. He was slow but came along at 17 when he hit a growth spurt. Late but it finally happened. He is 6' tall with his dad 5'7" and Grandfathers at 6'3" and 6'7".
no i haven't had personal exp but.. you are probably just a late bloomer and will get your period in the next year. If it doesnt come in the next year go to your doctor.
Eating disorders are bad whatever age you are but can do alot of damage when young and growing. If you were severely malnourished then its possible that you may not grow as tall as your family. If you are eating healthy now (3 fruit and 5 veg a day, breakfast lunch and dinner) then you should start growing again at a normal rate.
The damage is most likely done to your teeth. If you were vomitting ALOT then all of the acid would have damaged your teeth. Make sure you go to the dentist.
well i did not have bulimia before i started my period just afterwards i did and i havent had my period in really really long. like 8 months and i lost a lot of weight starving. but i couldnt help it so... i talked to the doctor and they took some blood tests (and of coarse i passed out, twice!) but i still dont know whats up with that i have to go back and see....
