Recovering from eating disorder?



I am recovering from an eating disorder and i was struggeling with really bad nausea due to malnourishment but I find I still get really bad nausea when I am on my period. Well not so much when I am on it but before and the last day of i just feel gross and just really nauseated. Is this normal does anyone no?

It appears to just come as a part of the package known as your period. If your ED previously impacted your cycle (which I assume it did) this side effect will likely appear more pronounced for some time.

I'm pretty sure it's normal, but to be on the safe side I would check with your doctor. I always have some stomach upset during my period, but my doctor said it was nothing serious. Since your already at risk because of the eating disorder I would Highly suggest a General Practitioner, or your gynocologist.
Perhaps your body just needs some gentle healing foods till it's restored to its normal healthy state. Here are some that I use when my stomach is upset.

"Slippery Elm (Ulmus fulva or rubra) is a slow-growing deciduous
tree native to the Eastern U.S. and Canada. It is the inner bark that is used medicinally. Useful for digestive upsets of all varieties as well as diarrhea and constipation, Slippery Elm will go a long way in solving many acute problems. Internally and externally, Slippery Elm soothes and tones tissues while drawing out and eliminating toxins from the body. From mouth to colon, it acts as a lubricant and protectant, making it an excellent choice for any inflammation or ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract.

As a nutritious, anti nausea food, Slippery Elm has no equal. It contains vitamins A, C, K, B complex, and is high in calcium and magnesium. Due to its gentle action and easy assimilation, Slippery Elm Gruel is helpful as a food during convalescence and will often be accepted and tolerated when all other food is refused. To make Slippery Elm Gruel, mix 1 tsp. of the powder with 1 cup water or broth in a pan. Heat slowly to a boil, stirring often (a wire wisk works best for this). Reduce heat and let simmer 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Take off heat. Add honey and/or other supplements if desired. Let cool and add to food,"

I put plain yogurt in the blender and drink like milk It is very soothing and healing. It restores the good micro flora to you intestines which helps digestion and is an easily assimilated source of protein.. I often add bananas and berries to the yogurt as they are also very easy to digest, soothing and loaded with healing nutrients. Look for other things that heal like a good multivitamin and maybe some aloe vera.

Dysmenorrhea is another possiblilty for your nausea. This is a fairlly common condition.

What are the symptoms of dysmenorrhea?

"Dysmenorrhea includes symptoms of abdominal bloating, frequent and intense cramps, pain below the waistline, or a dull ache that may radiate to the lower back or legs. There may also be symptoms of headache, nausea, diarrhea or constipation, frequent urination, and, occasionally, vomiting. The symptoms usually occur just before or during the menstrual period."
