Do I have an eating disorder? |
My parents and boyfriend tell me i don't eat enough, but i feel like I do. I don't have any issues about my weight or figure, I'm 10 stone and 6ft and am slim. I do a lot of exercise, especially swimming, and normally eat one meal a day, normally lunch, with a few snacks either side. I never feel that hungry, not even after "skipping" a meal. Does it sound like i have a disorder? Actually you are not underweight, but are close. I wouldn't say you have an eating disorder per say, but that revolves more around not eating for more of pyschological reasons. But how you are eating is NOT good for your body. Chances are you are putting your body in what is now as starvation mode and your body is probly reacting as an anorexic's body would. I recommend eating at least decent sized meals, or 6 small meals. Check out: http://www.calorie-count.com/ here you can make a free account and learn how many calories you should eat. Please take care. and to learn more about the body's starvation mode check out: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art2... I don't believe you have an eating disorder, but I think you are not eating enough to support your frame. You say you are 10 stone, which is 140 lbs, at 6 ft tall, that sounds a bit too slim. Try eating breakfast and then one other meal per day. Eating one meal a day does no good for anyone. no no, not at all well, if u feel u have an eating disorder, go c a doctor but eating 1 meal a day is not enough u should at least eat 2 meals a day: breakfast and dinner but u might have an eating disorder if ur not all that hungry, even after "skipping" a meal well you don't starve your self or make your self throw up so i don't think you have a eating disorder i wouldn't immediately call this a disorder, but I would say it is not the healthiest of eating habits. Why do you do alot of exercise? Are you an instructor? Are you afraid of being fat? Do YOU think you eat too much?? What happens to you if you have to go a day without exercise?? Are you neurotic about it?? This is by no means a judgement, just questions to ask yourself so that you can answer the question. if you aren't hungry, then that's ok. Then again, do you know what hunger feels like. Seriously, have you ever felt weak from not eating after exercise. It should be easy enough for you to find out what is normal for your age and height. If after all of this, you find that you are ok, then enjoy the body you have, girl!!! I wish I had your problem!! :) |
