Do i have some sort of eating disorder?

Hi i'm 15 and after seeing myself in a bikini recently i relised i could do wit loosing some weight. I have so far cut my calories down to about 800 aday and have been going to the gym. Yesterday i was very depressed and had a scoop of chocolate ice cream, after i realised what i had done i made myself ill, since i did i tried again, my friends know i am on a diet but have no idea how far it has got, they tell me i am thin, but in my opinion (the one that really matters) i am fat, i really need to loose weight but could i have developed an eating disorder??

If you made yourself sick, yes, you have an eating disorder. And honey, eating only 800 calories a day plus exercising will NOT help you lose weight. You're starving your body. It's going to store any calories you give it as fat because it doesn't know when it's going to get food again. Eat more to lose weight. You need at least 1,500 calories, probably closer to 1,900. Eat healthier foods, low fat and high protein. But please, if this behavior continues, see a doctor for help.
I think you should try to work off exactly as many calories as you consume and listen to the word floating around about you to see what others think.
It wouldn't hurt to see your dr. before you contine with your program
Oh you have some very dangerous things going on. I don't know what your weight is, but I'll just assume you could lose a few and still be at a healthy weight. That's fine BUT going on a drastic diet frequently backfires and you gain all the weight back and then some. Not to mention 800 calories is not anywhere near enough for a person esp. a growing teen to consume daily.

If you are concerned about your weight talk to your doctor.

You should aim for no more then 2 lbs per week. And you should never starve yourself or throw up. Being thin isn't worth that. You don't have to be skinny to have an eating disorder either. Your behavior certainly raises concerns least of which is you have an unhealthy attitude about weight. I suggest gettign help now be it from your doctor, a nutritionist or your parents.
hi i have been in the same situation. please go see a counselor or talk to someone you trust. most likely you are not fat but if you continue this way you could develop an eating disorder especially with making yourself ill. please stop before you end up on a declining track. i had a disorder that lasted me almost ten years and led me to several different dental and physical problems. please, please get some help if you want to talk about it please email me.
what is your height and weight?...you need to eat at least 1200 calories a day...dont starve yourself..eat more healthy meals and snacks, and start working out

eating disorders cannot be diagnosed on these forums, you need to consult your physician if you feel there is a problem with your health/diet
Yes honey you sound like you have develop one. One you are too young to think about loosing weight unless you are severly overweight. You should try eating more healthier and change up your excerise program. But if your friends say you are too thin, then honey you are you just don't see it. Go to your guideance councler or a teacher or parents and get help now before it is too late.
