What do u kno about binge eating disorder?????

this is for a skool project so plz tell me......

My daughter suffers from it. She is grown now and lives with her boyfriend but it was a long road to get her from the age of 13 to her being able to move out on her own.

For starters, the binge eater does it because of depression and then they are afraid they are going to get fat and look ugly. So then they make themselves vomit. They eventually end up with bite marks on the backs of their hands from the gag reflex. My daughter used to vomit so violently that food has actually gotten backed up into her ears where it would come up from the stomach and instead of coming out of her mouth or nose it would go up the eustachian tubes behind her eardrums. She got a couple of bad ear infections from it.

Then she got so good at making herself vomit that she could do it with her tongue. We had to moniter her every move and we had to tell her before we ate that she could use the bathroom. After eating she was not allowed to go to the bathroom for 2 hours. Of course then she would just stop eating.

After years of this it pretty much trashed her body. She got pregnant and had a little boy who was fine. But then she got pregnant a second time right after her son was born and because of the strain on her body from all the years of abuse and having just had a child, her kidneys shut down during the second pregnancy. We had just a few choices. Do nothing and loose both her and our granddaughter. Have kidney surgery and loose the baby but save her. She had the surgery and the baby was born 3 days later. She was flown to a NICU in another town to try to save her.

My daughter took off after that leaving me and her father with a 10 month old boy and her preemie daughter. Now they are ages 3 and 2 and we love them to death. The preemie has a host of medical problems all linked to the facat that she is a preemie because of her mother.

It is a very bad illneww and I know my daughter can't help herself. I saw her not long ago and she is still suffering from eating disorders. She is extreemly thin and swears she isn't.
