How fast does a women that has an eating disorder lose weight? |
I'm doing a research paper for my english class and I was wondering about this i cant find any website that knows the answere. depends on the eating disorder...if she is anorexic...days if she is bulimic, days also but if she is obese (which is also an eating disorder)...well never It depends on the eating disorder. If it's anorexia, obviously it will be at a faster rate than someone who binges. Sandy A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. People with eating disorders do not eat a healthy diet and either gorge and throw up or starve themselfs. Weight loss can be dramatic. I was anorexic for a time and lost 50 pounds in about 3 months. firstly it depends what disorder she has...but both ways i think you would beable to see a difference in about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks!!! Normally, if you don't eat anything for a day you'll lose between one and two pounds per day. Of course, in three or four days you'll be mostly dead so you have to do something. If you need information on ED's google things like "Pro-Ana" and "Pro-Mia" and search through some information found on sites dedicated to it. uuhh.. Just a little thing.... You dont die in 3-4 days from not eating (not drinking, maybe). Takes about 30-40 days for the average person to die of starvation. It is a pretty slow, wasting death, which includes the destruction of muscles and organs. Surviving anorexics (10% do die from it) may have permanent organ damage if the habits were kept for a long time. For an anorexic, loosing 1-2 pounds/day is not exceptional (depending on starting weight, of course), because most of them will also exercise very strenuously. Although you have a large error margin if you mesure weight every day (hydration status/period will make a difference in the 1-2 pounds range). personnal experience of anorexia |
