Is it common for adult women to have a eating disorder? |
Is it common for adult women to have a eating disorder? Many adult women have eating disorders. It is somewhat more common for a younger person to develop an eating disorder, but recovery rates for eating disorders aren't even close to 100% so it is understandable that many of these girls grow into adulthood with their eating disorder. Source(s): I've worked as a therapist for women (and men) with eating disorders well 47% do Yes. It is just as common as it is in a teenage girl. However as women get older (late thirties) and fourties if they have lived that long generally begin to see how destructive it can be and are likely to develop an eating disorder. Yes, and unfortunately getting more common. My advice for women is to realize the models and actresses are hungry. Now knowing that, eat until you feal satisfied, and maintain a weight where you FEEL healthy. Not a weight where you look in the mirror and feel that you look healthy. A weight where you are not fatigued, you feel satisfied from food, you are alert, and your skin, hair and nails look healthy. This is going to mean being heavier than fashion dictates. Don't worry about it, the dudes likea girl who's heavier than fashion dictates unless they need her for halloween decorations. Anyone tries to make you feel guilty for eating is an idiot, and a war criminal. Send them to the Hague. its certaintly not uncommon. its more commmon for teenagers or pre-teens but many adult women have them as well |
