What do you do once diagnosed with an eating disorder? What steps can you take to help yourself recover? |
Any personal accounts would really be helpful as well (but you don't have to share them if you don't want) I don't have an eating disorder, but it is certainly not ruled out of possbility that I may have one. There are 12 step programs (usually located in the front section of phone book w/ county services) There are eating disorder workshops associated with local hospitals. You might want to see a Doc. get evaluated/ diagnoses and then if you do have one, they can point you in the direction right there in your community. There are a ton of Americans with eating disorders, so you wouldn't be alone I assure you, Good luck :) Depending on how bad it is, they could emmit you into a hospital for a while until you are safe, or there are other eating disorder programs to help. I'd definitaly suggest talking to a doctor about it. They will be able to help see you head in the right direction. Good luck! The doctor who diagnosed you will certianly be able to refer you to a psychiatrist. It may be hard to talk to a stranger about your issues, but they will really be able to help. Let someone close to you know how you are feeling. Try and stay away from things that trigger your bad behaviors. Don't be afraid to seek help, an eating disorder is something that will turn very ugly if not treated. If you think there is a possibility that you have an eating disorder, then you probably do have one. Best of luck. my own eating disorder you could ask some dietician or a nutritionist.. there are different kinds of eating disorder and it all depends...just keep in mind that you must take good care of your health.. Alright. We cant really answer how to recover from a disorder, because it all depends on which one you have/or could have. http://www.healthyplace.com/communities/... Go to there, and read through that. That may help you some. You just have to push yourself to get better. Also seeing a doctor, or nutritionist. Good Luck with anything that comes. http://www.healthyplace.com/communities/... |
