Can I donate blood if I have had an eating disorder in the past?

I have always wanted to donate blood but for one reason or another I have never qualified. I have been in recovery for almost 6 months for anorexia. I don't want to donate if it can not be given to people in need. What would you do? I have been thinking about this for about a week now. THanks for your help.

It will depend on the condition of your body and your blood, what medical problems you have related to your prior diagnosis. You should contact your doctor to have lab drawn first. If you are anemic, diabetic, have any kind of viral diseases, they may not want your blood. It is wonderful that you care enough to want to donate. It's too bad more people are not standing in line to donate.
Ask the doctor.
as long as you are recovered, you should be able to. Have your iron level checked first though just for your own safety. They will test for any other disease that may not let you donate.
I think you should ask a doctor.
