Is it possible to overcome the effects of an eating disorder?

Is it possible to overcome the effects of an eating disorder?

I am not sure exactly what you mean. If you are talking about the bodies effect, well then yes. If you are anorexic then gaining weight helps, although you could have done some damage to your bones and other strucures due to malnutrition (I know), but it regulates itself if you return to normal weight after a few years, the body is very resillant. If you are bulimic, then, tooth damage, stomach damage can be nasty. This too can heal after a few years of being gentle to the body and not over feeding or under feeding, but the tooth thing can result in need for caps or root canals. Bing Eating Disorder is similar to the Bulimia in that there needs to be gentle feeding to re-introduce the body to understand what it is like to be comfortable again. Mentally, Ah!!! It takes time, for me, it is taking an upward of 7 years since anorexia. I have gone through all three, and I still do not get "it" like some people do, so personally I have faith that I can heal and anyone that wants to, its just the timing and willingness of the person. Only if you get professional help.
Only if you really really want to, and have professional assistance. Definitely a scary disorder.
Yes, it is very possible. However, it's So incredibly hard to do it alone. Ask someone for help.
