How can you tell if someone suspects you have an eating disorder? |
If you have an eating disorder, and nobody knows about it, how can you tell if they suspect you have one? What kind of little hints do they drop to find out on their own? Do they keep offering you snacks to see your reaction? There has to be someting out of the ordinary that would give it away that they are trying to figure it out without coming forth and outright asking, like detective work. What are some tell-tale signs? its easy to tell if someone suspects something. 1)theyll watch you more carefully at meals 2)make comments about you losing weight 3)theyll look at you funny 4)theyll ask you questions about how you think of yourself I dated a girl for a long time that battled anorexia. Constantly I and her friends were on the lookout for her and as such you would be sensitive to the following. 1. Change from drinking hot choc etc in a cafe to a long black. Playing with food - slicing to eat but more moving it around plate. 2. If we all went out to a Bar or restaurant concern if she went to the toilet and returned with chewing gum or minty breath 3. Condition of her nails 4. Increase exercise 5. Her memory would deteriorate quite quickly as she staved herself of carbs 6 Loss of hair / condition of her hair 7. Radical lack of energy 8. Expressionless, delayed reaction to funny comments So very sad, sorry that was me A) Eating disorders are gross B) If you are bulimic- you can tell by the teeth as simple as that. (See gross?) C) If you are aneroxic they will tell in behavior problems, like being less social or refusing food. They may make an extra lunch and bring it to school for you if you keep "forgetting" yours... :o) They'll also watch for easily bruising skin... They'll try to convince you to try things that they buy at restaurants even if you say you aren't hungry or will eat later because you are trying to save money.... If you are anorexic, get some help with that, it's painful to watch a friend go through that and not let you help them... |
