Have you or anyone you know ever suffered from an eating disorder?

Was it from over eating or not eating enough? Do you or the person you know still suffer from it? IF not how did you/your friend get past it?

Well you hit home with that one I do not eat enough, and then other times too much not fat 125 pd. How do I stop it by making sure I get small amount of healthy food and high protein and try to eat a little snack so in the end most of the time I am o.k. But i must put it on a plate to make sure I get enough. On the days I do not get hungry I wait till I slow down and unwind its work for me it was hard I also get cold easy witch is a sign I need food where I am hungry or not hope this helps its hard relax eat small amounts
I did, it was not eating enough! I went to a psychologist and I got over it....
I suffered from anorexia awhile ago after I had my son because I believed I was enormous. I lost so much weight yet no matter what the scale said I still looked huge. If you suffer from a eating disorder whether it be anorexia, bulemia (eating and then vomiting), or compulsive overeating you should talk to someone you trust and find yourself some treatment. I got over my eating disorder by seeing a therapist and getting professional help.
Heck, practically everyone I know suffers from an eating disorder. How many people, that you know, actually eat to live as opposed to living to eat? See what I mean? Doctors and hospitals would literally go bankrupt if people ate healthier. Few get past it. That's why obesity, heart disease, and diabetes are epidemic in the USA and many other affluent countries

Yes, my sister in law has some form of eating disorder, I;m not sure what it would be called but she is terrified of getting fat, and everytime she eats she goes to the bathroom and says she feels sick and throws up, she doesn't gorge on things though(that we know of)and during times of stress in her life she has dropped weight to the point of looking like a skeleton, and other times she looks thin but not to emaciated. My brother has tried to bring it up to her and ask her what is going on but she gets very angry and defensive.
i had an eating disorder in 2003. it was anorexia, but without the fear of putting on weight. i would simply not eat, because after eating, i feel so horrible with some pain in my stomach, and other feelings, like i wanna throw up (im an emetophobic - has fear of throwing up - which makes it worse, and i cant go out of the house anymore because i am so afraid that i might throw up) so what happened is, i eat less and less until i dont eat anything more than a size of a cupcake and a cup of water for a whole day. i reached just 40 kilos (88 lbs) and i already saw many doctors (surgeons, cardiologists, the ob-gyne, psychiatrists) and the worst time was when i didnt eat nor drink anything for 3 days (but i was taking all the meds prescribed to me) but nothing seemed to work. then i gathered all my strength and asked my father to bring me to the hospital, which they did. apparently, the resident doctor was smart enough to really figure out what was going on. i was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and that is why i feel sick after eating, its because of the acidity in my stomach. so i was given Novaluzid (you can look this up) and eventually it calmed my stomach during my stay in the hospital. i ate little by little and after one year i was able to recover with maybe 99% no symptoms of the condition before. i just keep an antacid handy just in case my stomach gets upset again. plus, a good prayer during those horrible times (i am a christian)

hope this gives you info.

cheers!
