Why are so many people scared of people that have an eating disorder?

K i'm bulimic and have been for a while. (but that's not the point) Whenever i tell people that i suffer from bulimia it's like the are scared of me. Why??

in general people think that you are mentally unstable because your eating disorder is self inflicted.

I hope you are getting professional help with your problem. you can mess up your entire life from an eating disorder. Source(s): BS Exercise Science

is better that they are scared of you then you can do what ever you want them to do
MAYBE BECAUSE YOU CAN DIE! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is because they are uneducated. Plain and simple.
Have you talked to someone about this? They are probably not scared of you they are probably worried about you. It is a very serious problem that you have. You should get some help. You could die, and you will start losing your hair and your teeth will get brittle.
I THINK PPL ARE SCARED"FOR" YOU, NOT "OF" YOU. JUST THINK OF EVERYONE AROUND U THAT CARES THAT MUCH TO BE AFRAID "FOR" YOUR WELL BEING
