I think my sister might, but thats just not like her at all. But, she's getting married in August and she's already admitted that she feels pressure to lose weight. She used to eat a lot(and btw she is not fat, not even chubby, she just wasnt really toned, but thats it) and now she still eats a lot but not as much and she always stays up the latest. And one time I went down stairs and everyone else was asleep but her and I was getting some water and I heard water running kinda loudly in the bathroom and I think she may have been puking but I cant say for sure...How can I figure out if she does or not?
It's often very difficult to tell when people are in the early stages of an eating disorder - people can be very sneaky, and they'll lie about how much they've eaten and make up excuses for their rapid weight loss (like saying they've had a stomach bug). Bulimics (the type that throw up) are also often harder to spot than anorexics, because anorexics simply don't eat much, or anything, whereas bulimics may eat normally.
With you sister, you could try asking her something like, 'I thought I heard someone puking last night. Was it you? Are you okay?' Then watch her reaction to see if she looks guilty or embarrassed. Otherwise you could try just asking her outright if she has a problem. Be understanding and sympathetic; you don't want to make her feel uncomfortable or defensive.
