How can I gain weight after overcoming an eating disorder? |
I used to have an eating disorder, which started when I choked on a piece of food, then after that I was scared of swallowing anything in case it happened again. I was already quite thin, so it made me drop to a dangerously low weight of about 45lbs. I had hypnotherapy and psychiatric treatment and am overcoming it, but still wary. I'm now 80lbs which is still very thin for 5ft 4, but a big improvement, but I am still trying to gain more weight, but Im not sure how. I hate it when people say, "gosh your so thin" because it makes me self conscious and upset about what I've been through. So does anyone know how I gain weight in a healthy way, not by junk food and no exercise. I am also a vegetarian, which doesnt seem to help =s im 6 stone 14 and male i gtet oh ur aneorixic a lot its so frustrating well i find that smoothines are quite healthy and filing pluss if you have your own blender (worth the investment ) it makes it very satisfying because you can see exactly what you are eating simple pasta and rice is also good because you might be lesss worried of choking because they are all identical but im not sure hope this helps x Source(s): personal experience from the grocery store...Boost Plus, comes in different flavors..drink with meal, not between meals. You will gain try shakes, and exercising will help with muscle mass, but with your frame be wary of working out to hard. DON'T push it.Eat 3 big meals, and drink healthy weight gain shakes between meals.
