When does it become an eating disorder?



My friend was recently diagnosed with anorexia, and ever since, I've been really scared.

I don't eat a lot, but that's because I don't have time, and I don't really like to eat- not to loose weight. I mean, I do weight myself every other week, but that's just for health reasons, my weight pretty much stays the same 110.

I calcuated my BMI, and it was pretty healthy like 19 or something. I'm 5'4.

But I'm really scared of my parents finding out I don't eat a lot. I never eat breakfast (unhealth I know) because it makes me sick to eat in the morning and for lunch I have a fruit soda because I'm usually too busy with stuff in school to eat. I eat a regular dinner, like an apple and a Lean Cusine.

I'm pretty sure I don't have an eating disorder, but I'm scared my parents will think I will.

Advice? I can't let them find out- otherwise they'll ship me to this anorexia getting better place and I'll miss my SATs, school and extracurriculers . That's my FUTURE. I can't miss that.

keep snacks in your backpack that are full of nutrients. like luna bars and pieces of fruit. for breakfast, try and eat something, you'll find it gives you more energy for school. drink plenty of water and eat a healthy meal for dinner if that's the only time you can eat a proper meal.

or you can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after dinner and throw it in the fridge so it's ready to grab and go for lunch and you can keep it in your backpack. there's many ways to get small meals in for busy people. if you don't treat your body right you may have problems in the future.
Well if your not gonna eat breakfast, you should eat more than a soda for lunch. And you shouldnt be eating lean cuisines. Just make an effort to eat more. And then you will have nothing to hide from your parents and they wont think you have an eating disorder. and it just healthier to eat more than what you are eating.
FYI not eating a lot actually slows down your metabolism and makes your body store more fat..so you really gain wait. Also with anorexia you get unwanted facial hair, you stop having your period, and you get smelly breath and bad teeth. So just eat more..eat like 5 small meals a day, instead of just three. You cant say you dont have time to snack on something while you are doing something else... i dont have time to eat breakfast...so i just bring it with me and eat it in the car on the way to work.
don't worry if you don't have an eating disorder, if your parents ask, just say no. but you should eat healthier, maybe a small breakfast and lunch and then a bigger yet healthy dinner.
your parents will kick your butt if they find out your not eating anything. keep this up and you'll end up just like your friend - with NO FUTURE!
i understand not eating breakfast but for lunch you should have something more than a soda... like a sandwhich or fruit or something. it wont take you too long to eat something small, so it shouldn't take up too much of your time.
as long as your eating and not making yourself barf, you're not really anorexic.
You're like me... I don't eat much just because I really don't get hungry often. I think for lunch you should try and have something more healthy than a soda, like PB&J sandwich. Maybe not a TV dinner every night also. Just make sure that you're not eating because you think you're fat or something. Also don't let other people judge you. People all the time ask me if i'm anorexic, and I know they talk behind my back saying I am, but I just had to get over it, cause my good friends know I'm not. Also a girl in my dance class recently went a summer intensive and lost 20 pounds from a bacteria infection, and serious flu, when she came back everyone judged her, but she isn't anorexic at all, and people still won't believe her. So just try to be healthy and not worry about what other people think.
