I have an eating disorder....? |
I have an eating disorder and I have admitted it and toyed with giving it up but I dont think that I want to anymore... It is a security type of thing for me I guess and I dont want to lose it... I like it although it makes me miserable... Is there anyone who can remotely relate and that wants to talk? I need a friend. Ok, you have done the first step...admitted it. You understand a lot more about your disorder than most - It is a security thing..It is a power thing. It is a serious power disorder. You may not be able to control anything else in your life, but you can control that. You need help - Find out if there is a OA - overeaters anonymous - in your area - If not try to find a therapist who specializes in it. I would not mind being your sponsor in your recovery, but you have to start getting help first. Tell me you are going to get help, tell me how and I will help you anyway I can. I am proud of you that you took those first steps.. Hey. i'm sorry about what you are going through but i definitley think you should try to stop. I know you have probably heard this many times before but it really is not good for your health. i dont have an eating disorder so i dont understand but i do know what it does to you. It does way more to you than just making you skinny. Research it that. that is all i have to say. It's easy for me to say 'just stop doing it' but we both know that won't work. An eating disorder will kill you slowly and painfully. It'll really take a toll on your appearance, too. SADLY LIKE ANY ADDICTION YOU HAVE TO WANT TO QUIT BEFORE YOU CAN SEE SUCCESS IN YOUR LIFE.THIS IS CONTROLLING YOU!! YOU ARE NOT CONTROLLING IT!! PLEASE GET MEDICAL HELP, THIS CAN EFFECT YOUR HEALTH IN SO MANY WAYS, NONE OF WHICH ARE POSITIVE, GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!! I would suggest therapy. But you are not sure you want to give it up. So how about (until you are ready to get into therapy) if you take a different approach. Instead of trying to be skinny as possible, try being as FIT as possible. Lots of things there you can control and regulate and feel secure about: Eating healthy, getting adequate sleep, getting all the proper nutrients in the right amounts, vitamins, controlling the exercise you do for each body part, getting proper relaxation, etc. Your body will thank you someday and it will give your mind something to obsess over that won't hurt you. |
