Is endometriosis pain constant?

I'm confused. I don't think I have endo. I don't really fit any of the symptoms, but sometimes when I don't have my period I will have twinges of pain near my ovaries. Not bad, not debilitating and not in need of pain medication. They come and go and they aren't every cycle. However, they begin around ovulation (but last longer than "normal" ovulation pain). My doctor said it doesn't appear I have cysts.

I don't get pain during my period (I get slight menstrual cramps but I take advil and they go away), with bowl movements, during sex (even when I have these pains) or any other pain related stuff.

So, is the pain of endo constant? Severe?

Sometimes the pain of endo can be constant and also severe but for yet others the pain may come and go. For others they may not even know that they have endo until they have check-ups for other problems.

I met a lady once that had to have surgery for a cyst because of the pain it was causing her and then while in the procedure they discovered that she had endometriosis too. This lady was 44 years old.

Also, with endometriosis some women can have their periods be irregular. The ovulation type pain you describe is a common pain symptom with endometriosis. I often got this pain especially on the left side around my left ovary.
