Question about Endometriosis...?

I've been doing a bit of research online and found that I have all the symptoms (excluding fertility problems because I'm only 18 and I'm not trying to get pregnant!). I also have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, so I know that some of my symptoms over lap.

My auntie also has it and I know there is some genetic disposition.

How is it tested for? What should I say to my doctor when I talk to her about it?

They will do a Laproscopy on you (cut you at the navel -small incision and take a look with a small camera)

I found out i had endo when i was 19 years old. They did surgery on me to see what was wrong then i had another surgery after that were they cut me as far as a c-section and burnt it all out (endometriosis implants) but i know it has came back because i hurt the same way as i did then. I am now 28 years old. I have a 7 year old son.

You know when the doctor found out i had that at the age of 19 he told me that pregnancy would cure it (like telling me to get pregnant but i didn't until i wanted too which was when i was 21)
Pregnancy does not cure it.

Well to be honest my doctors think I might have it also. As you know I have fibro also. But my doctor told me even if I was diagnosed that it wouldn't change much of anything. I'd have the outpatient surgery done and they would tell me if I had it or not. There isn't much that can be done for it. Not medicine or anything. You might hurt worse than most girls do during your period and some say you cannot get pregnant. But I know plenty of people who have endo. and have three or four kids. So don't worry too much about it. Nothing can be done and for the most part you can still have children.

The only 100% way to diagnose enodmetriosis is through a laparoscopy. It's a minimally invasive procedure, and you'll be up and moving around in no time if you have one. You might want to mention the family member having it to your doctor and see where the conversation goes from there. My mom had endo as well as my aunt(her sister).

P.S. I am 23, and also have fibro!
