How big are the scars after surgery for endometriosis?

How big are the scars after surgery for endometriosis?

The incisions that are made during surgery for endometriosis will depend on what type of surgery is being done. If a laparoscopy is done, your gynaecologist will usually make 2-3 incisions. These incisions will only be about 1/4" (or 1 cm long). One will be made at your belly button and the other one(s) will be on or just underneath your bikini line.

I have had 2 laparoscopies in the past 3 years and have 5 small scars from my laparoscopies. With the first laparoscopy I had (in 2005), they made 3 small incisions and I can hardly see any of them now, except I can sort of make out where the incision was where they cut in my belly button.

With my last laparoscopy (in 2007), I can still see the little scar from the incision made in my belly button and the one that was made just below my bikini line.

I guess if someone else looked at it, they wouldn't really see it as it is very small and not very noticeable, I guess the only reason why I can see them is because I know they're there.

Hope this helps answer your question. Good luck :)

All honesty is the worst than the pain of endometriosis. In all honesty you will have a barely noticable scar. I had a c-section even and I still cant see my scar. What you can do is apply pure vitamin e to a wound to prevent scarring. Please consult your surgeon before to put anything on a healing wound.

I had laparoscopy to remove endometriosis tissue and I have two small scars that are barely visible.
