I'm 20 and got diagnosed with Endometriosis..will I ever? |
I was wondering if I'll ever be able to have children...I only have my left ovary and it's abnormally small. I lost my right ovary from a dermoid cyst....I'm on birth control right now, but when I want to have children will I be able to produce??? You would be best off consulting with a fertility doctor on this as they can take into account your specific case. As the first poster stated, all you need is a slice of an ovary, and it can still produce eggs. It might take you longer or you might have to have some medical intervention, but you should still be able to have children. However I will stress again only a fertility doctor can tell you your odds, and even then it's not a sure thing. You only need a piece of an ovary in order to be able to conceive. As long as the ovary or piece of an ovary is healthy you can conceive. You should be seeing an OB/GYN who specializes in high risk situations. Both my pregnancies were high risk due to endo., cysts, and PID. Only a doctor can tell you this. |
