Can pregnancy cause endometriosis? |
I have been having extremely painful periods since the birth of my second child. I'm sick to my stomach, bleed heavily, have severe pain in my stomach, and when I have a bowel movement or urinate it is unbearable. Sometimes just sitting up straight hurts. I am really getting afraid now that something is wrong with me. This has only gotten worse with time, but I never experienced anything like this until after this pregnancy. I did have both babies kind of close together. One in 2005 and the second in 2007, I'm wondering could my pregnancy have caused this? Or something worse? I'm a little afraid to go to the doctor cause they may tell me something is really wrong. Any advice? I would check with your doctor. Better to know what is going on than to worry your self sick especially with two little ones. Pregnancy does change your body chemistry for sure. I have endometriosis and my doctor has said that with pregnancy things for me might actually improve. The symptoms you are describing sound like endo. But be safe, get a check up so you can start feeling better. It could be a number of things from scar tissue to endo to fibroids. Only your doctor will be able to really get you the treatment and information you need. Pregnancy doesn't cause Endometriosis, I recently found out that I have endo and three different doctors so far have told me that by getting pregnant it will actually help get rid of some of the endo since it spreads when you get your period and that doesn't happen when your pregnant. All of your symptoms do sound exactly like the symptoms for endometriosis but I would definitely go have your doctor check it out soon, there is no reason to put yourself through the pain and you don't want any problem getting to bad because it will only be harder to treat, don't be scared the sooner you get everything checked the better....Good Luck, Don't worry and Feel better. endometriosis is something your born with and usually (not always)runs in the family. i have endometriosis and had to have surgery to become pregnant. i was told after i became pregnant the endometriosis would probably subside. However, i became pregnant about 6 months after my first child. Once i had my second baby i could tell that the endometriosis was acting up again. So it may be that you do have endometriosis and when you became pregnant or after you had the baby fore some reason it just kicked in. My C-Section caused my Endomettiosis. I have all of the symptoms you describe except for painful urination and bowel movements. Usually after a pregnancy your hormones get more regulated and the pain of cramps is decreased. I would advise going to a doctor. My friend would always have very bad cramps and it turned out that she had tumors in her uterus. She also had an abnormally large behind and this was another sign. Right now you are guessing endometriosis is the diagnosis for your problem. I had it prior to a pregnancy. Make the appointment with a Gyn, you need to be properly diagnosed so you can be properly treated. Sound like a urethra infection (infection of the urine passage ways) which can be serious if not treated soon. i dont know much about this but sounds like you need to go to the doc. i know it could be sarky. but if you wait to long you may not be able to be helped. but caring a baby puts a lot on the mother. ( god blessed us well didnt he?) so it could be nothing big I think you still need to see a doctor even they may tell you some bad news, but how can you sure it can not remove your pain?at the same time an Traditional Chinese Medicine can really help.try to get one. I know that it can certainly exacerbate things, but don't know if it can actually cause. Perhaps you had it before but it was still fairly mild. you do not be afraid to go to the doctor. you may be much more calm. my advice is 'dont be afraid to go to the doctor' |
