Do you think endometriosis can go undetected even after a CT Scan,blood/urine tests?

I am wondering if anyone has had this problem i have been back and forward to doctors and 1 specialist ....they still have not found the problem but i know i have alot of pain and there is endometriosis in my family history ... i have just found out about it being family history ...and have not told the doctor as yet i have pain in my upper leg and thigh , i also have alot of swelling in my leg upper and pain down below near my bum cheek , as well as i have alot of heat from there sharp pains when i got to the toilet in my groin area and from what i have read i have most of the symptoms....... Has anyone else experienced this?

A CT scan, blood and urine tests are useless in detecting endometriosis. The only way to definitively diagnose endometriosis is via laparoscopic surgery, which should be done by an endometriosis specialist.

And a previous responder said that endometriosis is not hereditary; that is incorrect, as research has proven that there is a genetic link.

it can definitely go undetected. None of those test check for endometriosis. The only thing that can test for endometriosis is a laparoscopy.

Tell your doctor, and they can advise if they think you should get a laparoscopy.. endometriosis hasn't been proved to be hereditary though. There are many things that have similar symptoms to endo so I'd be going to the doctor if I were you

A doctor is the only person qualified to answer this question though.
