My epilepsy brings alot of stresses in my life especially with people. is fighting a last resort?

being accused of things i don't do just because of my condition and the mere fact that i don't react as quickly 2/want 2 believe that people are saying crude things about me, so i push it aside; but i know it's being said by ex: (friends, people in my life.). its hard 2 except but when i stand my ground should i just make my point verbally or because i'm so upset do it physically? i mean this is my reputation these people are staining. 4 no reason 2! what would u do?

people can be so cruel. when someone doesnt understand something they tend to be rude or cruel so they feel better. i wouldnt do anything especially fighting. these people are not your friends. real friends would not pick on you or tolerate people who do. keep your chin up and just keep in mind they are ignorant. so ignore them. act as if it doesnt matter what they say or do. they do it because they know it bothers you. besides the stress cannot be good for your condition. you will definately find out who your real friends are. good luck.

It sounds like you need a whole new attitude and a new set of friends. How about joining some unusual clubs or a church group and get into a new social atmosphere. You shouldn't have to suffer because of pre-conceived ideas.

You'd be a better person by just ignoring these people. By getting physical, you're stooping to their level and this isn't what you want. You want to show that you are above these jerks who are saying things. A person can stand their ground verbally, though, as long as they talk respectfully and state their facts clearly. If these people were truly your friends, they'd be more understanding of your condition and would never use it against you in any way.

it sounds like they need the help more than you if they can't understand why you can't do certain things. you need to bring them to your doctor and have him explain what's going on so they better understand you. my brother was like that a pain in the rear. for many years he didn't want to be around me and he couldn't understand why I was getting more attention than him while going through seizures. you have to turn it around and not let it bother you and let them say anything they want until they meet with your doctor. if it's said by your ex he's probably hurt that your divored and this is the only way he knows to get even with you. get infomation on the subject also and show them what people go through and maybe they will understand better. when people don't understand what's going on they think we use our condition to get out of things.
