Epilepsy and alcohol?

if you have epilepsy and dont usually drink how much is an ok amount of alcohol to have for like a one time deal? 2 or 3?

My husband was diagnosed with Epilepsy two years ago and advised that he should drink moderately only. Well his drinking was not what any doctor would consider moderate and he had an alcohol induced seizure shortly after. My husband has been told not to consume any alcohol at all. However he had been told 2-3 each week was OK by one neurologist. Our new neurologist as well as an epileptologist have been adamant that epileptics should absolutely avoid alcohol.
Alcohol affects people differently, throw epilepsy into the mix and you may be treading down a dangerous road.
Before you drink, please consult with your personal neurologist.
be well.

I have epilepsy and I am on med's for it. I have done my fair share of drinking and getting alcohol poisioning (once) none of those times have I ever had a seizure from it. I know they have warnings on med's and everything about it but I do it anyway I know its risky but sometimes you just need to have some fun!

I had a friend and their son had epilepsy and she said that with that you are not the supposed drink at all and especially not if you are on medication for it pressed. But if you are asking for yourself or a friend I would recommend just talking to your doctor. Your doctor Would know best.
