I have epilepsy and am ill, depressed and my carer is moving away what should I do?

I was diagnosed with epilepsy after a fall 4 years ago, it has never been controlled. I have lost all my confidence, have fits everyday and am very very depressed. My carer doesn't understand how I feel and I rarely see her. I find everyday life very difficult, I have no friends as I only moved here just before the fall which led to the epilepsy. A few days ago the doctor said she thinks I also have diabetes although this is not confirmed. My carer has now said she is moving away so I will be totally on my own and don't know how I will cope. I will be totally isolated and can't even get my food shopping etc. I don't have any family either.
I am now at the stage where I often think about giving up and I dread waking up every morning. I have spoken to the doctor and all they say is you are on the list for councelling. At this moment in time I don't think I will make it to councelling. The only reason I carry on is for my dog.
I don't know what to do please help.

I feel ya. I've been epileptic all my life and have had 2 surgeries to treat it but I still have seizures. Right now, I'm getting ready to graduate from college and am really worried about how my career will be affected.

My best advice to you right here is to take this post somewhere where you'll find a lot of people like you and myself who have much experience with epilepsy and all it's effects on the workplace, depression, treatments, and everything else.

Go to www.efa.org - that's the Epilepsy Foundation of America's website, and they have a lot of online forums for people like us to discuss these issues. Click on the "ecommunities" link and make a profile. When I found those forums one night I was like "wow - I've been looking for these people forever"

Best of luck! Don't give up!

Your carer is not your friend or confidant or doctor, the clue is in the name they are poorly paid manual workers.
Ask your doctor to consider antidepressants as you are undoubtedly depressed.
You are ill, not dead, do some charity work for those less fortunate and try to get things into perspective.
Count your blessings, every day we draw a breath is a good day!
Take Care

i have epilepsy to and i have had it for 15 years i think you should either change your doctor and be put on the right tablets to control the epilepsy i did and now i am so much better and i do so much more than before if you need to talk to anyone out it i am always here

TRY TO KEEP HOPE THERE MUST BE SOME MEDICINE

What I always do in a depressing situation is physical activity. If your already in bad health, it sure can't hurt and you can turn that pinned up depression into agression, energy, and a passion to break out of your current situation.

You are right, things will only get worse if you just give up now. People progress from being born to dying, and there is no way to avoid that you will die. The question is, are you going to go out fighting, or are you going to give up before your real time?
