Can somebody acquire epilepsy? |
Is it possible to "get" epilepsy, or are people born with it? you're born with it, but you can develop other seizure disorders. Epilepsy is something is manifested in childhood. However you can develop a seizure disorder from a numerous of scenarios. . . .high fevers after vaccinations, poisionings, not having enough oxygen, head injuries, aneurysms, brain tumors and once you have one you will most likely be on anti-seizure meds for the rest of your life. You can develop epilepsy or other seizure disorders from high fever, trauma to the head or brain tumors. Other factors may also cause a person to have epilepsy. My son started having seizures about a week ago and he is very young. He was most likely born with the condition that is causing his. Both. Some people are born with it and then there are people like me. I started having seizures when I was 13. For no reason at all, had no fever or head injury or anything like that. My Epileptologist has no answers as to why I just all of a sudden woke up one morning and has a seizure. Then 6 months later had another.
