Aside from surgery, is there any other way to cure epilepsy? |
Aside from surgery, is there any other way to cure epilepsy? There are several drugs prescribed for epilepsy. Both me and my younger brother suffer from seizures, and are both medicated. Growing up, I think I was prescribed three different drugs, Lamictal, Depakote, and I'm presently taking Zonegran. If medications don't stop your seizures, talk to your doctor. There is a diet, which I'm not entirely sure about the details, that has said to be effective in controlling seizures if medications are not useful. Good luck, I know it's tough! I haven't found anything but medication and that doesn't cure it. My 6 yr old son has severe epilepsy, he had a 7 minute seizure 1 day and they had to give him a shot to stop it. I'm sorry for u or whoever has it . Its not easy to deal with and I think they should do more to find ways to cure it. Good luck Epilepsy is an involuntary action that causes the human to collapse. There is a part in the brain ,the lower part that has a spot if you have an Epilepsy. Theres no cure at all just medications to lessen the epilepsy like nuerontin and dilantin.. not really.sorry. |

I'd say something like: Daddy has a sickness that makes him have what's called Seizures. We don't know why daddy has this, but a lot of people do, and daddy will be perfectly fine.... Yes our friends lab had its first epileptic fit at christmas, and as he came out of the fit he attacked our friend and tor a 3 inch gash in his lower lip, this apparently is quite common for a dog ... |
