What foods should a child with epilepsy avoid?

My 7 year old has seizures which are not controlled. I am wondering if TV, video games or certain foods are triggers.

My brother has epilepsy and T.V.s with i think 50 or 60Hz can cause a seizure. My mum and dad bought him a T.V. and since then he hasn't had as many but he has one about every month. Most of his seizures are subliminal which means you can't tell when it happens but when he does he closes his eyes for a few seconds. and if he goes up to the screen of the T.V. and suddenly dips his heap down about 3cm he is generally having a mini seizure. i hope you found this helpful.

I don't know enough about your child's seizures, point of origin or why they're not controlled to answer this the way I'd like to. Sometimes the lighting or special effects in some video games, movies and TV shows can do it but foods aren't known to. Below is a list of common triggers.

Stress
Lack of sleep
Infection
Starvation or dehydration
Excessive drinking
Flashing or strobe lights
Certain medications
Withdrawing from an addictive drug (including alcohol)
High fevers (in children)

Well I have epilepsy and back when we didn't know the cause, no doctor ever brought up any issues of tv, video games, or foods being the cause. I don't think that those things can cause seizures. It was sleep deprivation for me. Try having him put on medication. They tend to work very well. Tegretol is a good one for children. It's chewable.

this is just my answer on my child and me when I ate alot of choclate or coffee stuff with caffine it would bring the levels of my meds down and I would have them same with my daughter things like having a period brought on more seizures being upset to I hope this well help you and your child
