If a person with Epilepsy walks around outside in the heat for a few hours, can they have a seizure?

I am planning a trip to a theme park and my bf has epilpsy and I was wondering if he is outside for a long time in the sun...could it make him have a seizure?

excessive heat can cause a person to get worn out and have a seizure. When a person is run down he or she is more likely to seize. It also depends on how bad his seizures are and how well they are controlled.

Different people with epilepsy have different triggers for their seizures. Depending on how long your boyfriend has had epilepsy, he probably knows his triggers.

However, before riding a theme park ride, I would suggest he talk to his dr about it. If his epilepsy was caused by a head injury, then he definitely should Not ride any rough rides.

omg dont go to a theme parkk.. my dad has horrible epilepsy.. and the doctor will specifically tell you... crowds of people... being high in the air.. to many colors flashing... and direct sunlight cause seizures... i never even went to to a theme park until i was 18 because of this.. my dad just could not goo... he cant even go to lowes ( the hard ware store) because the asiles are so high.. when he looks up they all close in on him and he has a seizure.

Yes it could. My cousin is epileptic, especially if you are in dirrect sunlight, you have to be mega careful.

I'm not sure how severe it is in him, but tell him to wear a hat or avoid it all together
