I'm Epileptic and pregnant. What are the chances my baby will have Epilepsy? |
I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy and I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I asked the doctor and she said she couldn't answer that. So does anyone know? I read somewhere (I'll try to find the link) that the child of a parent with epilepsy is only about 5% more likely to have epilepsy than a regular child. There are just too many things involved in whether or not you have it, it's not a simple as eye color or blood type. I don't know either, but the epilepsy foundation or your neurologist might be a better source I asked my neuro that about my kids. Its not a real big chance at all. I was worried about that myself. I have 4 girls and none of them have shown a sign of seizures at all. |
