What is epilepsy? Whoever has it, are they normal people?

I met someone online and they said that they have epilepsy, I have no idea what that is. He seems nice, but does that mean he's normal or autistic? Can they have a normal relationship and stuff? What is epilepsy!!!!!!!!!??????

hahaha.
i had epilepsy.
it is normal, as in, he is NOT crazy or autistic.
well, he could be, but it really depends.

epilepsy is a disease that causes the victim to suffer seizures, where they black out and don't remember what happened.

yes. people with epilepsy can definitely have normal relationships, as long as they have their epilepsy under medical control. however, if you do decide to go out with this person, know what kind of seizures they have, and know what to do if they should have a seizure when you are with them.

good luck.
XD

Hi, my sister and dad have epilepsy . It causes the person to have seziures due to increased electrical activity in the brain. The person spasms and passes out ect. Diffrent people have diffrent types, usually without a trigger. There are drugs which control seziures. Most people with epilepsy lead normal lives, i know my sister and dad do. They are completly normal when they dont have fits, not autism or anything.
I hope that answerd your questions
=)

My name is Vickie Roy
and yes we are able to have a normal relationship. My husband doesn't have epilepsy. But I do. I was born with it. It is nothing to be scared of. you can't catch it. It is a little scary at first. Talk to your doctor and ask him/her for information. Tell them you have met some new friends and you want to learn about the condition.
Stay on one of the online supports and chat with some for a while. You don't have to have epilepsy to talk to us. IF you have friend(like you), or family members and want to learn something. By the way we have a health little boy who is now 3.

I myself have epilepsy. I have had it since I was 13. I am now 29 years old. I have a husband and 4 kids. I work full time and I do have a drivers license. There are some people that have E and cant drive due to the severity of their seizures. I lead a completly normal life. I do take meds to control my seizures. Epilepsy is an electrical abnormality in the brain.

epilepsy is an interference with the electrical pathways in the brain it can be controled on medication and people can usully lead a normal life
