Is Epilepsy starts suddenly at 21 when no symtoms at the childhood days.? |
I never had any health problem during my child days. The eplitectic seizures started suddenly at the age of 21 and on account of medication I am able to control this dreadest disease but my libido is completely off and there is no sexual urge.Is this condition curable,if so what is the proper medication. My first marriage broke and am afraid to go for second.Kindly suggest remedy to come out from this situation. Hey, I'm sorry to hear that, yet glad to. Because I have that too! I started having seizures at 2 yrs old. Now I'm 18 goin on 19,and my last one was Nov.2002! This November would make 5 years that I haven't had one! :'-) It makes me so happy I could cry. My mom told me there was one I had in 1996 or what I was 8 that got so bad, that they had to give so much medicine that it nearly stopped my heart! I bet she was scared 1/2 to death! Autism & Epilepsy are not completly curable. So this means I won't get to drive until I'm at least 24! You might need to wait on driving until u're 30's at least! You can take Keppra for the seizures though. That's what kept me from having seizures all this time! Until you're ready to get married again, chill w/ u're friends. They've always got u're back! Unless they're bullies that is. I wish u the best of your years. Good Luck, Sarah Source(s): My life historty, still goin strong after all the trouble n it. ASK YOUR NEUROLOGIST TO TRY DIFFERENT MEDS. IF HE/SHE WON'T, CHANGE DOCS. IT'S NOT AS BAD AS YOU'RE MAKING IT OUT TO BE.....OH IT'S HORRIBLE, BUT YOU CAN LIVE A GREAT LIFE.....I'M 61 , HAVE EPILEPSY SINCE PUBERTY AND I LOVE MY LIFE.........CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE. STRESS BRINGS ON SEIZURES. The first thing you need to do is to report this side effect to your doctor. He has no clue that you are having side effects if you don't tell him/her. Once he knows about your problems he can work with you to either adjust your meds or change them or whatever is needed to take care of this side effect. Call your doc and update him on your side effects from the medication. I started getting seizures when I was 24 years old. Mine are sporadic in nature and often occur due to triggers. I have not been able to find any medications that I could even tolerate. You are fortunate to have found medication to help you that doesn't make you sick. I suffered through all kinds of side effects until I had to finally quit taking them altogether. You need to make sure your relationship is strong and make your partner very clear about your medical issues. If you are with a person who truly loves you, you can make it through the issues with medication and libido. Trust me, I've been married almost ten years and my hubby has had to deal with my issues with seizures, depression, anxiety, migraines and respiratory problems. My meds have made me very ill and he still stuck by me.... Good luck... Speak to your doctor about it.I to have epilepsy and have been on many drugs over 20 years. When taking the the drugs we must take each one has side effects, some good some bad.check with your doc about ajusting dosage or a new drug.Let your man know you love him and try to make understand it's the meds not you.A loving husband will work with you for good of the marriage.I had the same prob with my wife and my meds.STAY STRONG and talk to your doc with your man there so he may better understand how you feel. |
