Do all epilepsy patients have concentration dificulty and impaired deep thinking? |
if no, then which type of epilepsy patient does have this kind of difficulties? it depends on what part of the brain the seizures mostly affect and how frequent the seizures are. everyone is going to be different but most are going to have some degree of memory impairment in short term memory Source(s): have epilepsy My stepfather and his sister both have epilepsy. My stepdad's is well-regulated by meds and I don't know that he's had a seizure in quite a few years. His sister, however, has had a number of grand mal seizures within the last two or three years - she was going through a period of enormous stress. Neither of them, however, seem to have difficulty concentrating or thinking deeply. Both work efficiently and effectively at their jobs and I have held some rather heavy-duty philosophical discussions with each of them. If you are epileptic and experience difficulty with concentration and impaired deep thinking, perhaps you could look to other causal factors. There are a number of things that contribute to concentration and cognition. Of course, if you are having very frequent seizures and have these concerns, maybe consult a neurologist. The two may be related. i have epilepsy, and i think i do have those issues, but i know friends of mine that do as well... so i think those specific things your asking about could also just be a personality thing |
