I have a great increase in facial hair and weight gain,could it be my estrogen level? Go to your Doctor...there could be many explanations for this. Your thyroid comes to my mind first...not estrogen. See your Doctor. Probably---but you'll like this. There is a new hormone patch for HRT. Unlike the HRT pills (which can cause blood clots and because of the kidneys filtering so much-you don't get much estrogen anyway) the patch puts the hormone directly into your system, so you need to take much less. That decreases your risks and lowers the side effects. Please talk to your GYN about this. I can't remember the name, but he/she will know what it is just by "hormone patch." I research drugs and devices-FDA. You could either have a hormone problem (like I do), thyroid problem, or it could be PCOS. You should make an appointment with an endocrinologist. You need to take bc pills or something to increase your estrogen level and also... do exercise. I believe that lowers your estrogen level because if your too obese you start to get irregular. So I just suggest going to the doctor and asking as many questions as you can so you won't leave that place confused. I did that and I took an hour or something in there; I made my doctor explain my problem very thoroughly. I had a low level in estrogen and a high level of testostorne. Now I'm taking bc pills for it. |

Its called a hormone level test. and can be done with blood or saliva....
