Does having fibroids affect getting pg? |
i had a gyn appt the other day & my dr did an ultrasound and found many fibroids and a cyst on one of my ovaries. the good news is that neither the fibroids or the cyst aren't very big. she wanted to put me on BC pilss but since we've been ttcing for sometime now after a m/c in 2002. i didn't want that option. she put me on a drug called prometrium, that i guess thins my uterine lining and lessens the pain and clots i have during my cycle. having to deal w/this is not a good thing as it also is affecting OTHER areas of my lifew/my hubby. so my question is since we are putting the ttc on hold trying to focous on getting me healthy should i discuss taking the BC pills as i've heard it elps to shrink the cyst and fibroids . we have no children btwn us,so it's a big decision. i've been on them once before b/c i had desmorrhea(bleeding outside of cycle) which come to think of it may have been the fibroids. idon't want any surgeries as i just had a tumor removed from by brain 6mos ago. so i'm not ready for any more surgeries as i'm still healing from that,so i'm definitely looking for more non evasive ways in dealing w/this. also my identicle twin had the same problems but she had 4 kids by the time they b/c a problem and had a hysterectomy at 32. i'm 37 now so i'm running out of options. can anyone whose been on this medication tell how it works and if it helps or if i should just do the BC pilss. my gyn has also scheduled me for an utltrasound w/radiology so she can get better details on my situation and my dr.s from another state still haven't sent my records so she can view the films from the hystopediocardiogram(HSG) i had done back in 2005. so i'm in limbo ttc. so any advice would be welcomed. also any homeopathic remedies are welcomed. thanks in advance The fibroid tumors can cause a lot of problems; I ended up having a complete hysterectomy when I was 28; fortunately I had a daughter. One of my friends sister had this and she has ben unable to have children as a result but with medication I think they can go away and you could have kids. I'm only 20 and tbh don't understand all of what you said. I think you should ask your doctor/gyn. They went to school to help you with these kind of things so they probly know more then some. They will understand your concerns. Fibroids may or may not interfere with getting pregnant. It really depends on size and location. I have fibroids and for me they're not an issue. It sounds like in your case they may be. I agree with Rocker wife. Get with a RE. |

Luprone injection can shrink them. ...What on earth did the doctor who diagnosed the fibroid suggest to you about this? Your current menstrual cycle problems are the direct result of the fibroid, which is quite large (as fibroids go... NO! Ovarian cysts are fairly common, due to a mishap in hormones secreted by your ovaries, but I would defiantely get a second opinion!! ...a secretary i knew had this happen to her. she ended up having a premature baby around 6-7 months. she was very small and you could feel it on the side of her lower stomach. keep an eye on it!!!... from what I remember of a friend that had them. If you have an excess of caffeine in your system that can cause them to stay larger and not shrink. I would go with caffeine free clear pop if you... |
