I just found out I Have uterine fibroids?

ok, like I said I have some uterine fibroids. I now know the reason why my period was so heavy and prolonged.(not sure how many, doctor has to discuss that with me.) anyways....I am only 28 years old, no kids yet, would love to have a few some day. so.....I am curious....what do they do exactly to remove them? I heard surgery. but....are there other methods? if any other women out there have gone through the same thing, please share your story with me. I am totally freaking out about this....I am really scared! please someone help me with this!

I had uterine fibroids for years AND endomitriosis ...there are several different ways to treat fibroids WITHOUT surgery..
One way is with birth control pills..my doctor had me on them for quite some time..he had me taking them to completely STOP my periods which helps shrink the fibroids..It helped alot..talk to your doctor about the alternatives..
I was treated when I was in my late 20's early 30's and had healthy children afterwards..
Don't be scared sweetie..
Good luck to you :)

I can't be of great advice but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. My mom found out she had uterine fibroids some time last year. For a while it didn't bother her much except for during her period when it would get super heavy. She LIVES at the beach so it bothered her a lot to literally have to walk to the bathroom every half hour to change her tampon. She also started to get very bad cramps and discomfort. She discussed with her doctor and opted that a hysterectomy was right for her. That definitely doesn't meant you have to do it, but she was already finished having kids and is getting close to menopause age anyway so she knew it was for the best. Just discuss your options with your doctor. Research what symptoms to expect. Don't worry! They are common and definitely treatable!

Good luck :)
