My gyno said I have fibroids in my uterus! I have severe cramps & bleeding for 9 days every 20 days! I'm?

very fatigued during my period & the bleeding is unbearable! I just got a endometrial biopsy to check fro abnormalities! has anyone else have fibroids & what did they do for them ? have you ever had this biopsy before too? thanks .

Yes, I had it for a long time before something was done about it 10 years ago. I had a Hysterectomy; I鈥檓 42 and suffering all
sorts of problem joint pain hot-flashes, heart trouble and so on. Make sure you talk to more than on doctor and if surgery is needed ask if the ovary鈥檚 can be saved.
I was on Hormone replacement for years. I stopped recently do to Heart trouble and the insurance won鈥檛 pay for it anymore.

You may need some vitamins and some extra iron.Ask your Dr.about it

i'm very sorry to hear about ur symptoms. i have friends who have had some of the pain and bleeding u have. i was diagnosed w/3 fibroids in '06. so far i have been very, very lucky. other than some fatigue and pack pain, my symptoms have been minimal. i've found the yahoo group on this pretty is good for info and experiences:

i haven't had any type of biopsy as my gyn didn't warrant the same since fibroids are virtually always benign. sometimes altering ur diet can help w/the cramping. ur iron will be off due to ur bleeding. make sure u don't b/c anemic. whatever happens a/f the biopsy, please research the best treatment option for u carefully. gyns have (my own gyn agrees) a tendency to do hysterectomies when they may not be warranted. it used to be the easiest way of dealing w/fibroids since they can not return if there is no uterus to return to. this of course triggers early menopause to kick in. just make sure that u have as much information as u can so u can know all of ur options.
